Tuning

I just bought A4 1997, 1.8T, quattro, manual.
I am new to this forum. Guys, could you please explain me step by step where to start tuning and what can be done. Any references and links will be appreciated.

why dont you do the following

1. locate the search button and give it a lil use as virtually anything we're going to mention has been discussed before.

2. click on the sponsor links... believe it or not they sell stuff that you might want to buy for your car.

3. call some of the companies that sell stuff for your car... they will offer you more info about how to do things.

4.last resort is to ask new questions on the forum... questions that you doubt have been discussed before, and have tried to verify this by searching for said info.

Thanks, but I still prefer to get some kind of guidance. I do not need details, but steps from your experience.

Hey Yuri Welcome to AudiWorld :)

Hey if you ask any questions here, they will tell you to use the SEARCH button. Mostly because people ask the same questions. Check out the FAQ section!

1. If you have over 60,70K then you need to do your timing belt,water pump,etc service. Search for timining belt and you will find all the info!

2. Get a chip. That's like 50HP. GIAC or APR are the two main providers of chips. Check the classified you can find used ones there.

3. Get a AudiTT Diverter Valve called "710N" With the extra boost your running 15psi vs 7psi stock you need a better Diverter Valve. Search on this you will find plenty of info!

4. Finally you can get exhaust,rims,suspension etc etc at your leasure. The Chip and DV are the easiest and most bang for the buck!
