Default sure you read it all?

taken from this article:

"Now locate the 14ga red wire which comes up from the ignition switch. This is your 12 Volt constant which is used to power the turbo timer. You may become confused, as there are several red wires in that bundle. If you like you can remove the upper trim pieces on the steering column and loosen the lower piece as much as possible (Allen screw underneath lock lever, and two Phillips screws up inside the holes on the bottom side as well). With all of these things loose you can just barely look at the back of the key switch. You'll see 5 positions on the switch and a total of 6 wires; one of the switch positions is shared with another wire for the Load Reduction Relay just FYI. Anyhow you should locate the red 14ga wire which comes out of the ignition switch (you can pull on wires up top and see if they're moving below); this is a good indication that you've got the wire you want. "

since you have a volt meter, why not just test for the wire that goes live when you turn the key to the on position?

Default Have you done this before there is about 25 wires in that cluster

I want to know what color wires I am dealing with and I also don't want to do this fuse by pass thing if I can help it.

Default yes, i've done the install 3 times. which way did you do it?

did you take out the cluster or did you go the easier route under the kick panel? there should be only 1 or 2 completely red 14ga wires at the end of the steering column. Pick one, finish the rest of the install, if you picked the wrong one, your windows won't work and the timer will shutoff when you pull the key. If so, disconnect the TT wire from that one, patch it up and try the other red wire, it should work then. Just don't CUT the ignition wires, and anything you do will be easily reversible.

Default I located a constant 12V red wire using my voltometer but

it still shuts off after the engine shuts off. Why does it do this? Should I wire the blue to the ACC wire ? I am just trying to follow the wire instructions that came with the timer. It says to wire the blue to ACC and the green to the on wire unless the switch has two "on" wires than its blue to the constant 14V and green to the wire that has 14V that drops to 0 (zero) on engine start. I ahve it this way and it still shuts off completly on engine shutdown which makes no sense at all since it is getting a constant 12V supply> I cant even turn on the TT with out turning on the ignition. Its wierd.

Default ignore the TT's instructions, follow the writeups here

not sure if they changed the wire colors between the greddy III and the Greddy IV, but for the III, you don't use the blue wire. These TTs were made for Jap cars, the accesory features of the TT don't work on the A4
