two quick question:

1. what is the difference between dot 3 and dot 4 brake fluid? is that like viscosity for oil? i know not to use anything but dot 4, but i was just curious.

2. how come we have to use the g12 coolant on audis and vw's? what is so different between it and regular antifreeze?

reason i asked is my buddy and i were changing his suspension on his wrx today and did the brake lines and pads at the same time. i had fluid i told him he could use, but i had dot 4 and he needed dot 3. now i know they are interchangable

I'm curious about the second question. I heard that if you mix G12 and regular A\F it would produce.

bubbles in your cooling system.

to my knowledge

the coolant is the same as dexcool, and the reason for it is longevity, that and the seals for dexcool don't take regular a/f well, like i think they get mushy and dissolve or something
