Ugh!
I just got a quote today from the stealership for some suspension noise i was getting.
Front control arms and wish bones 2,102
including outer velocity joint boot which is cracked.
Tie rod ends worn/loose 236 ....341 if done independantly.
I'm wondering what this would cost me at an idependent mechanic.
Any ideas? TIA

Your control arms are not going to go all at once...
It's probably one or a few control arms. And hell, there is a service action that should still be going on for the lower (rear?) control arms that should be in order for you. Anyway, you are looking at maybe $1k for all 8 control arms replaced at an independent mechanic. Maybe a bit more. ECS Tuning has a kit including 8 heavy-duty Meyle arms and two tie rod ebds for a total of $600. Go to your regional forum and find a good mechanic, and see what they would charge to install. The CV boot can be repaired, there is a kit for that as well.

Are the boots on the upper control arms supposed to be sealed or are they more of just a buffer?....
