Default Update: Carnage

Motor is ripped apart, melted the pistons, parts of the rings were in the oil pan (no wonder my compression sucked) Went to check the other stuff yesterday, and found the turbo had about .75" or horizontal shaft play whcih sent the blades into the hosuings so thats fvcked. Basically time to start over. If I kill one more motor, this car is gonna be parted out.

Default You know, big turbo/aftermarket turbos seem to have avery high failure rate.

The Super20G on my Conquest went kerblewie. I wonder if the fact that these turbos were probably specced for a much lower RPM engine has any effect? Are we spinning these higer due to the design of the exhuast housing or something?

One would assume that 3.6 liters at 3k is equaul to 1.8 liters at 6k...

Default yep only hooked up when i troubleshoot

Obviously there was detonation, which seized the rings, then i think fuel got in with the oil and destroyed the turbo

IIRC, Mike O. went through many track days per year with his car and he had 200K miles
