Update: NYC Smashed Window
I got called and they told me the window regulator was old so it was rolling up slowly and it would need to be eventually replaced (no problems prior to break in).
I go this morning to pick up the car and notice a few things:
1. Replacement glass is PPG and not OEM Audi. It's got a gray tint instead of the greenish tint on all the other windows.
2. The foreman said that the plastic on the window regulator was actually broken. Since it's an insurance claim, I don't know why they didn't order one. ???
So I had to talk to the acting manager (regular person was out for the holiday), he refused and made some bs story that State Farm would not authorize Audi glass on a car more than 2 yrs old.
He gets the regular manager on the phone and I talk to him. Nice enough guy, but he says that if I can get State Farm to authorize it, they will be glad to order the Audi parts. [I paid my $100 deductible and the acting manager would NOT give me a copy of the invoice- he said it was State Farm's rule- which is complete bs, b/c I have the invoice from 2 yrs ago].
I call State Farm and they are scratching their heads on why the shop would say that. He said that returning the car to the original condition before the loss was covered- meaning Audi OEM glass is covered and the window regulator should NOT need additional authorization since they are doing direct billing and that it's entirely reasonable that it would be damaged when the glass was destroyed.
So here I am waiting for them to order them Audi Glass and window regulator- which is just fine by me since they are keeping the car until the parts come in and don't have to worry since the locks haven't come in yet.

Original post
