Update on Remote Reprogramming
Brought it in for 5000 mile service on Monday and told dealer to reprogram remote for one touch unlock and being able to close windows and sunroof with the remote. The dealer said he would try with the old codes from 1999, that he had. Well Monday afternnon i get a call saying it worked. When i got home noticed that the one touch did not work but the other feature (close windows and sunroof) worked fine. I wonder if they did not use the right code for one-touch or if they forgot or if they just won't do it because of safety reasons. he means "one touch unlock" w/ the remote. Not one-touch window roll-up from the door controls.

The reprogramming calls for entering a 5 digit number which is a complete listing of the options. It is possible that the dealer failed to enter a number that included the one-touch lock/unlock.

On one-touch it unlocks Driver's side door
And to unlock all the doors you have to hit the button twice. I thought one-touch would unlock all the doors on a single click of the unlock button? Anyway the close the sunroof on the remote works and thats what I really wanted. It works great when you forget to close the windows or sunroof (no need to use the key in the door lock anymore).<p><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/audiworldpics/2000/jdulacsig.jpg" BORDER=0> </a>

I have a 99.5 A4 and am curious about this
functionality. Are you saying that you can
lock all doors, close all windows and close
the sunroof by pressing the lock button on
your remote transmitter? This would be way cool
especially since I left the passenger side, rear
window down by accident the other day.
Please elaborate on this, any info and/or links
would be appreciated.

There is a faq on this. There is a function that can open/close the windows with the remote. my dealer since my car is in for insp. right
now. Hopefully they are fully equipped with
a clue!
I noticed your (Ron_C) signature picture of your
2000 A4 also has an APR 1 Bar chip in it, how
hard was that to install? Is the chip in a
socket?
