Vacuum hose failure? Help please
I have noticed that when I am driving in 5th gear (auto tranny just fyi) I have been losing power. I try to accelerate, pedal to the floor, and it barely goes anywhere. It also happens if I am at a dead stop and I am trying to accelerate quickly to merge onto the highway. I suspect a leak in the vacuum hose but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what the problem could be.

how many miles are on your car?
do the rpm's increase without an increase in speed?
if so you might have a slipping clutch.
if the car just doesnt move take a physical look at your vacuum hoses and check the dv with the instructions found in the faq

It has about 82000 on it. I believe the RPMs were going up when I was accelerating but I am not positive. I don't want to sound like a fool but I have an auto tranny but this is the first time I have owned a tiptronic transmission, I was not aware I had clutch.

Trace the hoses and look for a tear. I had some issues with the one that plugs into the intake...
manifold nipple closest to the front bumper. My DV line is looking nasty, that will hopefully change soon (-:
