I hear there are lots of places in Newark NJ that carry them

well more like carry them away from your car.

epimporters.com....

although i have a B6, i shopped around and ended up getting my e-codes from <a href="http://www.epimporters.com/products/description.php?II=30">Euro Part Importers</a>. they do sell the valeo e-codes, with the B5 type being the one piece unit. prices are one of the lowest i've found.

that is NOT cheap... you can get it for at least $30 cheaper at more reputable audi sites

try supremepowerparts.com. i've also heard that avalonmotorsports.com will beat any competitor's price. so if you tell them that SPP charges, say, $300 for ecodes, avalon should beat the price. good luck.
