VDO gauges?
Which boost and oil pressure gauge would be more appropriate for the 1.8T?
1) 15 or 30 psi boost gauge?
2) 80, 100 or 150 psi oil pressure gauge?
And would you go with a mechanical unit or electrical?
Thanks,
Nick

I also installed an electrical 80 psi oil pressure gauge. Installation was a pain as I had to T the new sender with the old to get the normal warning light and tone to work right. My whole painful experience is in the archives.
I see 80 psi when the engine is cold and when running over 2500 rpm or so. If I were to do it over, and I may, I'd use a mechanical 100 psi gauge.
Good luck,

Therefore install a 30 psi unit!
Thanks for the info,
Nick

My problem with my oil pressure gauge is that it reads 80 psi at times, which is the last mark on the gauge. I don't know if it's actually 80 psi or if the gauge just stopped there. I recommend getting a gauge that goes higher than the largest reading you expect.
If you do a mechanical oil gauge, I'd love to hear how it works out. Keep in mind you'll need a t-pipe. VDO makes one.

As for the oil pressure gauge leaning towards the 150 psi model, will not be installing the mechanical one though. As you probably know it's a lot of work for the little extra accuracy you get out of it!
Thanks for the help,
Nick
