Vinylex problems
After reading many recommendations for Vinylex, I finally got some and tried it out. But I'm getting a lot of streaking and blotching on my black interior surfaces. Maybe these are not really vinyl: I used it on the leatherette seats and many interior surfaces, both smooth and textured (NOT the clear plastic instrument panel). Are you supposed to smear a lot on to get a uniform coating? Or polish the heck out of it? Or should I have waited for temperatures above 50 degrees outside?

I find you've got to put it on very evenly...
or you get the streaks and blotches. I don't like the look if it's really smeared on full strength, so I try to dilute it some (apply it to an already water-dampened cloth.)

I have onyx interior/onyx leatherette and...
I try to put an even, yet thin coat on all surfaces. I have put it on everything (except clear plastic!) with not problems. I did noticed some streaking at first and then aI changed my technique. I make sure that my rag is saturated on one side and dry onthe other. I rub on an even coat and polish just a bit. No streaks. It seems to even it out. Also, after setting a day or so, it seems to even itself out. Isn't it amazing how good the dash, seats, doors, etc, etc, look after a coat of this stuff. I am very satisfied with it. Just try putting it on a few different ways and try buffing it just a little. Makes a big difference.PatM
