Wett chip and control module coding

Completely exposing my ignorance on these matters, I just want to make sure that recoding the "control module" as described so well in the FAQ's isn't going to affect my Wett (or other) chips. Is the "control module" the same as the chip or something completely different, and will recoding it with the dealer's VAG affect the Wett program?<br>Thanks...<p>Rich<br>'98 2.8Q sport<br>

There are 8 or 9 control modules ...

Engine, Tiptronic, Brakes, Climate Control, Air Bag, Instrument Panel, Central Locking, and Interior Monitor (alarm). Changing the locking options won't affect the engine chip.<br>
