wheel knocking noise...

wheel knocking noise...

I noticed a slight knocking noise from the wheels while driving. This is what I know:

- noise only exists on my 18" oz valcano rims
- noise dissappeared once I put my winter wheel on.

Question: what can cause this knocking noise? unbalanced wheel?

Sounds like a balancing issue to me. Does the noise move if you rotate the OZ's back to front?

same problem here on fornt pass ....

i curbed one of my wheels before and i guess it threw off the balance...i have to see if it needs balance or it maybe be a bent wheel.....

Are the wheels truely hubcentric? Were the lugs really tight when you took the wheels off?

A knocking noise, sounding like a wheel bearing? Or a thump thump noise, like a bad tire? Could be anything, but my money is on bad tire, or mis mounted wheel.

Damn, I was afraid of that. I'm bringing the wheel in for balancing next week... hope that fixes it

Lug were VERY tight... too tight.

I'm hoping that re-balancing hte wheels will fix the problem. However, if it still persist, I think you're right - it's probably a bad tire or bad wheel bearing...
