When turning...

I hear a groan, pretty sure its ps pump has gone bad...

but when i turn and brake, i hear a click noise under the hood.

if turning right i hear a click under the right side(passenger) and vice versa.

any idea what is causing the click?

No, but

the groan could be tie rod ends going bad. That was the problem in my car. Maybe that could cause the click sound too????

could tie rod ends effect breaking as well?

"breaking"? if you mean braking (with my spleling I should talk ;-) )

then, no I don't think so. They may affect handling as the loose tie rod end slop will constantly change the toe-in slighly.

clicking is generally a bad cv joint.
