wierd boost problems..help!
On full throttle in only fifth gear as the boost startes to taper down on my boost gauge, if it drops below 0.5psi from 1.0psi it goes into limp mode and there is no check engine like, usally after 110mph...but other than that the car runs great in all gears....anyone have any suggestions?
if i restart the car it goes back to normal, until I do it again....;(

It is caused by the FMIC. I had that problem all the time when we were testing a EVO fmic on my
2000 since I was the R&D car. The car is going into a soft limp mode and resets when you start the car again. If you check your DTC's you will find a "neg deviation" code.

It did it in 3rd-5th gear over 5400 rpms.
But most of the time it was in 5th gear on the fwy since that is a straight pull thru 1 gear and the turbo takes longer to spool up. At the drags the turbo is spooled up thru 1st-2nd so is spinning at a higher speed by the top of 3rd gear. But the issue was fixed with the last chips I had for my K03, which ran 20-24psi on the street and the Drag chip which ran 14.2 on 104 octane. I am pretty sure most of the GIAC K03 chips now will get rid of that problem with a FMIC, but still run normal boost levels. I think the main issue was that the boost sensor was seeing the drop in pressure so there was not enough booost at the higher levels, I think the fix was to program the boost levels higher in the upper rpms.
