Will VW giac ecu work on an audi with same engine same code?

Default Will VW giac ecu work on an audi with same engine same code?
99.5 a4 1.8t

8D0 907 557 P

If it works I would just be able to put it in (plug n play) if the chip is coded to manual. Also the ecu says something about AEB

Default in most cases yes.
I know a few people were running 018 CH boxes from passats on there A4s.

Default Did the Passat come with a ndbw 1.8t?
If so then it will work.

Default Ok then, Mr. One-up. Additional info for the original poster...
I have a 557P box from a 99 passat in my 99.5 A4 quattro (both AEB engine codes), just make sure the box is coded for the proper transmission.
