window switch removal

I just got my new fingerplates in because mine were really worn down. i know how to remove and install the new ones but i cant get the window switches out form the old fingerplates. has anyone replaced the swicthes and has some adivce?

I have taken mine off, just use a small screw driver and pop up oneside just a

little then do the other, repeat from step one until off.
