Default Windshield adhesive removal

Hi guys, I'm trying to replace the lower trim on my doors and the previous idiot used that black windshield glue to stick on the old trim. Its now a soft rubbery type substance. I've shaved off all the excess with a razorblade but haven't found a chemical that will disolve it.

Any suggestions on what chemical will take this off without hurting the finish?

Thanks !

Default "JWB Antibond" citrus based, hard to find... but works GREAT on polyurethane removal. EDIT w/link.

Try a local glass place, they will either have it or a like product.

The "JW" stuff is really really nice as it's a citrus base product that REALLY works. It WILL however take off all the wax and soften undercoating - beware!

I bought a case of it several years back from one of my industrial wholesalers... I assume it is still around? May not be though.

EDIT: LInk to "West Marine" the first online place i found that has it. It's a small can and not cheap but it does work.<ul><li><a href="http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/51839/0/0/jwb%20antibond/All_2/mode+matchallpartial/0/0">West Marine - JWB 2015 Antibond</a></li></ul>

Default a comment...

You might consider 3M automotive trim adhesive remover. I've found it works very well.
