Windshield Washer Fluid Leak

Hey guys,

Anyone have a problem with this? I just got the low fluid indicator, so I went to go put some more fluid into my resevoir, and as im pooring the fluid it, I have a river of fluid leaking out onto my driveway. I took a look and found where it was leaking from, there is a black hose coming from the bottom of the tank with the fluid leaking down it, so I would assume that hose is the problem. Anyone know the part number for the house, or can can I just use any old hose? Also has anyone ever used any stop leak on this system?

one of the washer pumps is leaking.

likely the headlight washer pump. The part is $30ish if I remember correctly.

Common problem with our cars

I had mine replaced when it was in warranty. Exact thing happened to me. I poured in more fluid only to see if flow right back out and onto the floor. I'm not sure if a DIY fix is possible - but if it is indeed the hose then maybe so. Take a look and let us know if a cheap fix will work (silicone sealant, or other adhesives or sealants might work?). After it was replaced, I just usually refrain from using the headlight washers if I don't have to, problem is that they automatically activate when headlights are on, but there are ways around that obviously.

I just pulled that connector out and used a hose clamp. done.

Mine was cracked, I plugged it with silicone adhesive entirely as I didn't need the headlight washer

Check that the pump is fully seated in the tank grommet

Mine once worked it's way out, fluid suddenly leaked out like crazy. Just needed to be pushed back into the rubber seal in the tank. Just push down on the pump.

have you had any maintenance done where the bumper was taken off

The reason I ask is 'cause when I got my car back from t-belt job they broke the quick release fitting on the bottom of this T so I just pulled it off and pulled the hose on the bottom of the T. Net is one less part and now unloosing the hose clamp instead of the quick release thing.

Same deal filling up the reservoir and ended up filling my garage floor with a gallon of fluid.
