Windshield wiper stalk replacement....

Anyone have instructions to replace?
Wipers only work in high position now. I don't think It is the motor so I am going to start with the stalk.

Tech Section...

IIRC, you start by removing the steering wheel/airbag (Follow ALL precautions!). The combination switch is the next item on the column- you have a choice: clean the wiper switch or replace it... there's a great writeup on this, and I think it ended up in the Tech section.

Here's a MUCH easier idea that worked for me:
Try replacing the relay. I had a very similar problem and the relay was causing it. To replace it, remove the driver's side knee bar and replace the relay that looks like your new replacement.

Thanks, I searched the tech section and did not find..

I will try again. I hope it is the relay. Did you get yours from the dealer? Remember the part# perhaps?

I don't pay those prices!

I never buy generic items like relays from the dealer- go to a worldpac site (like sasponline.com) and you can get a replacement there. Good luck!

Crazy stuff...

On the way home from work last night and slow and interment started working. They have not worked since last Friday. I know because I have checked every day.
The only thing is that they are very slow.
So maybe the relay contacts just need cleaning, and maybe the wiper assembly's need a good greasing.
I hate this kind of stuff, I think it's time to sell her. I need a truck at this point in my life anyway.

My wipers slowed way down, then they..

started to work erratically (so I applied Rain-X). They finally quit all together. When I replaced the relay, they worked like new. There's a pretty good chance you don't need to go to the trouble of lubing the mechanism.

I checked out sasponline....

The only relay I saw for the wipers was a intermitent relay. Is that it?
Just wondering because the intermitents are not the only thing not working, the slows and one swipe are not working either.

So I pulled the knee panel to remove the relay...

I located it and removed it to get the part number. Then I put the relay back in place and the wipers worked in all settings. I would wiggle it around and they would stop. I ended up determining that it had just come unseested and I replaced it firmly and they are working again.
Don't know if that was a permanent fix but they are still working today.
