Default 3.2l vr6 engines in 2005 A4's

Since Audi has announced that they will be putting the 3.2l fsi vr6 engine (255Hp) in the new A6, what is the likelihood that they do the same for the A4? It seems like this would be a much better engine than the current 3.0l v6 offering.

Default I don't think it's a VR6

I think it is a more traditional 60 or 90 degree V6. The VR6 is nearly a straight 6 w/an only 15 degree separation between each bank of cylinders.

Default It is not a VR6, it is a new V6 with a 4 valve head with FSI. It will be the new A4 engine along ...

With the new 2.0T FSI motor.

Default it is built off of the vr6 platform

I believe it is built off of the 24 valve vr6 platform. They just added FSI.

Default I'm holding off on buying a B6 until they do the engine upgrades...

...and I am hoping that in another year or so Audi will do their usual mid-model-cycle updates (like 99.5 A4s), and that the A4s will come with the 200hp 2.0t (coming this fall in the new GTI), and the 250hp 3.2L V6.

BUT, I personally don't think the B6 will get those engines until next generation (4 more years?). The 3.0L V6 has only been around for 3 years, and they don't want to abandon it already. I figure they will bump the 1.8t to 180 or 190 hp, and possibly get a few more hp out of the 3.0L.

Default I've havent' seen that in writing yet. We don't even know if FSI will come to NA yet.

We know FOR SURE the new A6 will have the 3.2 FSI in Europe, but nothing have even been said about engine choices for new A6 in NA. We know even less about the A4.

Last I heard there was a problem with FSI and our high sulfur content gasoline.

Until I see it in writing, and it specifically says NA version, I won't believe it.
