hello everyone, im a long time reader but not much of a poster. I have a 2002 A4 sedan and about 2 years ago the econ button came on but everything still ru ns fine just no ac. so the other day we hooked it up to draw it down but noticed it wouldnt go much below 0 so we figured wed try to add the frion stuff, well when we did that we heard a hissing from the front of the car and the guy said my compressor was shot. so the other day I buy the Bentley repair manual in hopes to find a specific to replace the compressor for the 3.0 but I cannot locate it in there just how to remove it, does the whole front of the car have to come off for this? and if the compressor is bad would you hear a hissing from it?
Thanks everyone this car has suddenly had everythign starting to go wrong with it within a year with only 80,000 miles on it and its already rustings aroudn the wheelwells with regular car washes!

bizarre... AC quit working.. (and no, it's not because it's cold out so that it just feels that way)
