Basic Performance Upgrades

i have a 2002 A4 1.8T. been thinking of doing some basic mods. thought about a cold air intake, exhaust, and a tune. been putting it off due to my work schedule, etc...well i found out i need to replace the cat. converter so this is my chance to do the mods. i figured i could get an intake, some sort of exhaust(less the converter, i figure since i wanna make the exhaust somewhat noticable, then i could do a kit that eliminates the cat and the tune will prevent the car from throwing a code plus i live in alabama so emissions isn't an issue), and a basic tune. this is a daily driver so im just looking for a basic setup. anybody have any ideas or suggestions on what direction to go and what parts to look at...
