bilstein sport + h&r combo: do i need rubber spring seat on perch for front springs?
I'm mid way through replacing all my control arms and my also swapping h&r coilovers for bilstein sport shocks + h&r sport springs. i have a few questions about the spring perches. I'm replacing a set of h&r coilovers, so i don't have the stock springs / shocks anymore (and things such as spring seats, etc).
1) for bilstein sport shocks and h&r sport springs, do the front springs need to sit on a rubber spring seat, or just directly on the metal perch? if they're needed, does anyone have any recommendations on where to get some other than the dealer?
2) what's the order for installing the washers for the front suspension? where is the the bilstein supplied washer used vs the existing washer?
2.5) the locking nut can't be used more than once... but can it be taken off and put back on? basically, what counts as a "use": the installation itself (as in putting shocks on), or the actual act of tightening the nut (as in you put it on then take it off and it's "used")?
3) same question regarding spring seat / perches for the rear. does the spring sit on a rubber perch?
Thanks,
Mike
