CD Random Function...

CD Random Function...
We tried to set the CD player to its random
function last night but were only able to get
the player to go random within a single CD,
not across the whole changer. I pushed the
"Menu" button and used the **** to scroll through
the "CD" setting and onto the "Changer" setting.
It would only go random within the current CD.
Am I missing something, or does it only pick the
next CD at random after finishing all songs on
the current CD?

Re: Unless they changed something, that is how it works.
So it plays everything on one CD at random, then
picks the next CD at random?
I was hoping it chose at random from EVERY song
on EVERY CD at the same time.

On many stereos, there are two RANDOM functions,
one for the current CD, and another for all CDs.
The Symphony II only has the latter RANDOM function but with a little more intelligence; to cut down on disc changing, it purposely plays the majority of the songs on the currently loaded CD before jumping to another CD.
