Do memory savers work for battery replacement on audi.
Battery saver? Don't know. Got another car nearby and some jumper cables? That will have plenty of capacity to keep your car alive while you swap batteries.
The dealer I went to charged me $50 to get the code. That's about 1/2 hour of shop time. The technician probably spent close to that, what with pulling the radio, talking on the phone to AoA, washing my car, etc.
If you're going to keep the car for a few years, I'd go get the code.
Besides that, the battery acts as a big filter for the current. Voltage spikes can take out a lot of the sensitive electronics. Fry an ECU lately?
And you'd better be really careful about letting the positive cable terminal touch anything.
Not a great idea, even if it can work.
To the original poster: yes, the memory savers work. But only if the cigarette lighter is powered with the ignition on -- which the Audis do.
