Default DV Install

Gonna install the dv this week. ive been reading and many ppl say install it backwards. whats the point of this and is it necessary.

shouldn't i just install the new dv the same way as the stock one?

Just install it the same way. Why mess around with the way they engineered it to be?

Default i originally installed my dv in normal position (oem bosch sport 110 bpv)

but when i logged my car channel 115 i noticed my requested boost was above my actual boost. i decided to invert my dv and once i did that my actual pulled above requested (i now peak at 20 psi after you perform mbar/psi conversion). graphs below demonstrate the before and after of the dv inverted. entirly you opinion but either way you will be ok when with diaphram. it's all in what you feel works better for your system. all dv/bpv's don't necessarily work better inverted though. when it is inverted you will noticed it sounds a little louder (id say more like an anoying bov) but at least its doing its job.

normal

i'd say the proof is in the pudding... wouldn't you?

Default its a full duplex system believe it or not

airflow will work in both directions. i thought the same thing you mentioned but then i decided to log and try it anyways. although it sounds strange the diaphram tends to allow for greater boost inverted. TJM actually recommends the DV be inverted on majority of their modified cars.

Default because of the different type of valves

push vs pull, diaphram vs spring.

Default just like to note that curve looks lil better in first two because my passenger controlled vag-tool

the latter two were done by me while driving so the rpms are a little different. either way the numbers dont lie.

inverted as in, boost pressure faces the bottom of the diaphram or piston as opposed to the side?

i know my wording is off and hope this is what you are asking. let me know if i'm off track here

Default certainly worth a try

i mean leave the belly pan off the car after you install your new one. once you have the new screw adjustable hose clamps on u can put the car on ramps and switch the hoses and dv ends in matter of two minutes. you will be able to feel the car change in throttle response i'm sure.
