Electrical Connector - Quick Question

So in doing the timing belt and thermostat job, I accidentally broke the electrical connector into the alternator. Word of warning, the t-stat and alternator are almost identical. In searching the forums, others have made this mistake.

Anyway, the dealership has a replacement connector but it doesn't have any wires so nothing to solder or crimp together.

Do I need a special tool to splice my old wiring to this new connector from the dealership? Its a plain 2 pin connector.

De-pin the pins in the connector. Or if you have troubles doing that, snip away the plastic connector until just the pins are left. You can make a de-pin tool or buy one on line. Lots of videos showing how to de-pin.

Ok. That was too easy. Now I need to buy the release tool and replace some of the old crumbling D connectors.

Or break the old connector into small bits and save the existing wire pins to insert into new connector.

If pins or wires are damaged then find replacements at the scrapper or order wire harness repair parts that come with new factory pins.
