Default Electronic Problems

About a week ago, my 02 A4 3.0 had difficulty starting, it had been sitting for a few days but started up fine earlier that day. Once the car was on, the EPC warning light was on as well. After turning it off and back on, the light went out. Then last night, i was pulling in a spot and as i shifted into reverse, the engine died. the electronics of the car (radio, a/c, lights, etc.) were still functioning as if nothing were wrong, the only thing was the engine shut off. When i turned it back on to move it, the battery warning light came on along with the EPC light. Then today, it started up fine, but as i was driving, the clutch seemed to slip (i have an auto). The next time i turned it on (10 minutes later) it took a while to start and the EPC and check engine lights were both illuminated. any ideas as to what is wrong?

Default Check the inside of the ECU compartment for water accumlation....

It's not real easy to remove the cover, but if you are careful and take your time, it's not to hard. If water has leaked into the ECU box, various odd symptoms will occur. Knowing that there is no water in the ECU box (Or, removing any water if present and fixing the leak,) is a first step for further troubleshooting anyway.

Default RPS Sensor

The dealer reported that after hooking it up to a VAG, the "RPS SENSOR" was bad. I look for an OEM part online and no results came up, has anyone heard of where I can get an RPS Sensor, or is the dealer screwing me over?

Default

The "Crankshaft Speed Sensor" is a dealer only part.
