Flashing CEL on AMB Engine Code
Coilpacks?
Just had the wifes car towed to my house. I was just going to swap new coils in and see if that solves it.
Anyone with part# for these?
SOmeone mentioned something like a second stage that could be bad too? Whats the deal on that?

Neither is yours...
Flashing CEL needs to have the DTC codes read from it, otherwise you and everyone who replies is guessing at what the trouble is!
You'll wind up changing parts which dont need to be changed, and or spending excess money, trying to put the light out, instead of fixing the actual problem...
My post is a big help, if you actually follow it.
Otherwise your troubleshooting in the blind, and fixing blindly...

If the car was shuddering while driving then it may be a coilpack, but w/o codes you don't know
which cylinder or how many failed. I'm not sure of the part number, but the 'R' revision is the latest. Get 4 (assuming 1.8t) as the other coilpacks (if one actually failed) will most likely follow suit

I understand the benefits of Vag.
I also have a TT.. last week my car did the same, flashing CEL and misfires, thats what the A4 is doing.
I'm going to swap the coilpacks.. but what the hell is this other thing I've heard about?

lets weigh out your solution vs mine...
$400-500 for rosstech and cable then whatever needs fixing..
or
$120 for coils and that may or may not solve problem then add'l if it doesnt.
I just want to know part number and what the other 2nd stage whatever it is is..
I dont mean to be rude but showing me a picture of rosstech doesn't help at all.

Funny how when I search flashing CEL every post comes back
w/ coilpacks..
not we need to run codes.
I'll let you guys know when I replace all the coils and the flashing goes away that I fixed the problem.
The only reason you would want to run codes is to see which cylinder is misfiring.. even then its not wise to replace just the faulty coil.

Mines not a "solution"...
but 1 step in the process, to determine why your car has a flashhing CEL...
