Flashing gear selection (rndp) dash lights ?

Flashing gear selection (rndp) dash lights ?
Hi all
Drove my a4cab this morning and noticed the gear selection letters flashing on the dash
There was no noticeable change in the way it drove
After some searching it seems to be the transmission control unit seems to be at fault,
This afternoon I had a diagnostic reader plugged in and it read two faults
1, gear ratio p0730
2, input speed sensor p0716
Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix
