Hello! 2005 B6 3.0 timing belt
Hi to everyone. Im new to this forum, since just recently I purchased a 2005 A4 3.0. The car has 158000km, and after reading through the forum, I decided to do a visual inspection of the timing belt, since I don't know if it was ever changed. The dealership won't help me contact the previous owner,so there is no way of knowing.
Il post these pics, so if anyone has the experience to tell me, does the belt look new or old? It seems to be in good shape, its not hard or anything. But of course just from looking at it you cant really know.Maybe an older belt looks different?
Appreciate any answer

If I had to guess, I would say it was changed, only because when I did mine, I don't remember seeing any marks like the ones in red in your pictures. Looks like whoever did it put the marks on to line it up.
But having said that, obviously you don't want to have it break and it's always wiser to replace it before that happens if you have any doubts.
It does look it ok shape. I'm not 100% the recommended replacement interval (75,000 miles) and I'm also used to dealing with it in terms of miles and not kilometers.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. After doing some reading, it looks like the 3.0 don't have markings, so someone must have marked them afterwards. Also, there are 2 marks on the pulley thing and one on the timing belt cover housing. Why are there 2 marks on the pulley?
The car has exactly 100000 miles,so im guessing it was changed 20000-30000 miles ago...
Thanks again
