HELP!

yesterday i was in 5th going about 50mph and it was at like 5k rpm and started making some really bad smells... no CEL. today i drove it home, and it accelerates really slowly, but as soon as i get on the gas a little, the engine starts revving almost like it is in neutral, and if i let it go high enough in rpm's, it makes the weird burning stink. it still drives fine when im REALLY light on the gas, but wont really accelerate after 4k rpm.. anyone know whats wrong with it? im taking it to the dealer on Tuesday.. im hoping the extended warranty will cover it. im thinking the turbo went out.

Well, it shifts fine, and theres no slippage at all.

The 'revving almost like it is in neutral' certainly sounds like the clutch slipping to me. Do you mean that the RPMs start to skyrocket without any perceptable increase in power/speed? Or do you mean that there is just no perceivable increase in power when you take it into higher RPMs?
