Idle problem when cold

Hi guys, turns out that I have another small problem now..I have a 02 A4 3.0 quattro 6 speed manual. When the car is cold, even 20 minutes after I started and drove a little bit, if I wanna stop to a light and if I press the clutch the rpm will go up with like 500...then down a little bit under 800 and then stabilize. I doens;t seen that the engine will die..but its not nice, and also not fuel efficient. Can somebody tell me in which direction I should start the diagnostic? Thank you and hopefully I explained well.

I would check for any faults first if you can. Possibly a throttle body cleaning/adaption could help, but you have to rule out any vacuum leaks or other problems first.

Ok, I was thinking to do a vacuum check anyway. Car history..it has 115k miles, new air filter like 1k ago, new fuel filter (1k ago). Also the valve cover gasket has a small seep (its not very bad, i dont see oil on the ground, just sometimes when I go to higher rpm I can fell an burned oil smell).
