Kenwood KVT-815DVD -Update
For any of you B6's here is an update:
So I brought in my Kenwood KVT-815DVD and PNAV-4100 to see what was wrong with the wiring setup. Apparently when I put in a destination I get only 2 maps available with the other 4 grayed out. I called Kenwood and they said something with the VSS not being hooked up. Well here is what I found out.
The VSS is hooked up and you can use the following technique to see if its working, use the diagnostic tools to see if the NAV system changes coordinates STEADILY as you drive. Also if your NAV is not smooth, chances are the VSS is not hooked up. Now heres the juice - If you don't ground Kenwood NAV system Properly it will not allow you to use the Turn By Turn Navigation. If you try to bypass the wire that hooks up to the Parking brake then you will be able to watch movies - you will however not be able to use the turn by turn Navigation. How sucky is that. Well I guess I rather play DVDs then get the turn by turn. I have found a way around it however you have to use the 3d nav so that you can view on the oncoming exits/turns.
