Hi,
Was going to pick your brains. Lights turned up today - I was starting to get a bit worried - some of my enthusiasm's been sappped by AoA recently, but I thought it might cheer me up to fit them.
It came with mounting plates, but one of the screw tabs on the mounting plate broke off (in shipping I assume). I wondered if the mounting plate already there was the same, in which case I don't have to worry about it.
Also, any tips on install? I know some people had probs with wiring harnesses being too short.

You shouldn't need to use the new mounting plates; the ones you have now are exactly the same.
Other than that, there really isn't much tips to speak of... You may need to give the cables a good tuck to free up enough slack to plug into the bi-xenons, but otherwise, straight forward swap 
And congrats! You finally get the lights!
The AoA stance on warranty does annoy me too though... I'll be bringing mine in for service soon, so I'll find out what AoC has to say.

Hopefully. You don't have a pic of the adjustment screws do you?
I understand that there are 2 - 1 lateral, and 1 vertical, but I can only see the vertical one. which is a white hex.
Btw - been looking at the search and it seems to be the consensus that if you go from xenon to bixenon you have to get the lights levelled and then vag them so that the car knows what the default position is - I vaguely remember mentioning "vag-ing" the lights but I can't remember why.

But I don't see why VAG-ing is necessary still: when mine were adjusted, a VAG-COM wasn't used: it auto-levels just fine...

thanks - I just worked it out as well by looking harder - I take it the black one is lateral.
As for vag - I think it's just to reset the default level position, but if it's all ok I'd just let sleeping dogs lie.

I actually don't remember which is lateral and which is vertical...
Besides, it's not quite that clear cut anyway: there's one pivot, with the adjustments at opposing corners.
And what?! :P I do have a girlfriend, you know :P I was gonna go have a ride in a APR 1+ B6 though, but that didn't pan out.
