Programming switchblade key from dealer
I've STFA and am a little confused. I purchased an '03 Audi A4 1.8t Auto/tip and it only came with one switchblade key. I've ordered a new one from the dealer so I assume it's precut. Since I already have a working key can I program it myself and not pay the dealer $60? I've seen there are some procedures for programming the remote if you already have a working one. Not sure if it's just for the remote function itself or to program the key to the ignition.
Or can I use a Vag tool for this? Looking for a good reason to purchase a VAG and if I can program the remote instead of paying the dealer for it I'll just get it now.
I see alot of messages about getting the SKC from the dealer but is this only if you purchase a non-cut e-bay key, or even when you purchase a key from the dealer?

Dealer will charge you for cutting and programming the immobilizer
You need the secret code if you are going to do it yourself or if anyone is going to do it for you. I think they also delete old keys as well. My dealer charged me $315 for a new remote key and programming/cutting. I called 2 others in the area. That seems to be the going rate +/- $50.
