I had the MOMO alum sport[?] in my Beetle in SoCal and never had any "too hot too handle" issues

No. None of those ever really appeal to me. I think in this car, it needs a rounded style/shape

But what do you suggest?

My car is still on the rack being tortured as we post.

It has taken them a bit more time then anticipated. But very soon (in about an hour). I am so wired!

in my beetle i had a momo, can't remember the name, here's a pic...

It's the shape that felt so good. That type of foward contour felt so much better than the round ball. Felt much sportier when shifting. The euro a4 shift **** is shaped a little like this too.
