Speed sensor Open/Short

Speed sensor Open/Short
I have 2003 1.8T Quattro with headlight leveling.
My ABS and ESP lights are showing up due to Left rear wheel speed sensor Short/Open.
I checked the resistance of the sensor which comes to 1.7KOhm (same as Right rear sensor) and measured the AC voltage with tire rotation, which is similar to Right Rear sensor too.
I am thinking the connection from ABS module to sensor may at fault as ABS module going bad seems less probable given the type of code.
Please let me know how to check the connection between ABS module and the sensor itself.
If someone else also has faced this code and do let me know the solution.
