Default Speedometer Accuracy

Has anyone noticed this. I have a 04 A4 1.8T quattro sport. If I have my cruise control set at 100km/h and I then reset the average trip speed it then reads back @ 95km/h.
At 140km/h it reads 132km/h.
I had the dealer look at this as well as the losy AM reception that I get and they acted like nothing was wrong.
Thanks
Paul

PS:
My old 2000 A4 1.8T quattro sport was bang on and my wife in our Rav4 confirms the slower speed indicated by the trip computer.

Default I found my spedometer to be accurate...

I went on a road trip to Detroit last Sunday to check out the auto show. I also had my Garmin GPS to give me directions to get there and back. The GPS also displays the current speed while driving. I had set the cruise control to 70 mph, and the GPS stayed constant at 70 mph. It may be off by 1/10th of a mile, but that's OK with me.

Wheels and tires are stock.
I'll try to dig up a GPS but I'm pretty much convinced the Speedometer is reading about 5% low.
Really anoying !!

Default Same here...

At 70 MPH the average speed says I'm going 68 MPH...so its a couple MPH fast, not big deal I don't think.

There was a post about this yesterday I think...with some links to a couple articles. I guess it's pretty common, with BMW having the most inaccurate speedometers, while cars under 20k have the most accurate.

Sorry guys. Last search I did on the weekend came up with no hits.

I guess that article sums it up pretty good.
So now the question becomes can the speedometer be adjusted?

Thanks

Default drive 5% faster ;) going to guess Audi/dealer has an acceptable range for it to fall with in b/f

they would attempt to fix it.

good luck though.
