Update: folding function does not work ...

I recently posted a thread where I mentioned that I had replaced my stock mirrors with S4 mirrors that had the auto-dimming and folding functions. I wanted to see if I could get the folding function to work. I replaced the mirror adjustment switch with one that had the folding function. Unfortunately, nothing happens when I turn the switch to the folding position. My mechanic mentioned something about needing to "program the ecu" in order to get the function to work. Anyone any ideas?

Alternatively buy the wife a Honda and it has them fitted as Stock - I did ;~)

there is an adjustment using vag-com, but unfortunately I don't recall what it is....

doing a recode is all that you should need to do.

The ecu that controls the auto-fold mirrors and reverse-tilt is part of the seat memory.

You need to have powered seats with the memory function to enable this. When I looked at the Bentley diagrams, it looked like the wiring harnesses should be included, but I've never taken out my seats to verify.

According to the wiring diagram, the '04>B6 door controllers,...

in association with the mirror switch that has the fold-in position, provide the fold-in function command and execution. The door controller PNs must be compatable with the PR numbers for the fold-in mirror option.
