Why is there motor oil dripping from here...

Ok, so I changed the oil myself for the first time a month ago (@ 42k miles) and got oil everywhere. But it's been a month and I still noticed oil coming from underneath the car. I took a pic and couldn't understand why there's oil coming from that area. I think i put in a bit more oil than I should've (hit the top line, but didn't go over), but have just taken some excess oil out. I just don't understand how oil is coming from that area so far from the engine?

Don't think it's trans fluid

The reason I say that is because I took a drop of the leak on one finger and then a drop of motor oil from my dipstick on another finger. The texture and consistency looks identical.
I've included a better photo for reference.

Output prop shaft seal going
Technically it is gear oil...we all should of seen this at some point...after fluid filled motor mounts go, this is usually next w/B6's that and J-plug next to thermostat (no heat issue)

what does that mean in layman's terms? :)
Sorry ggcrash, I'm not quite sure I understood what you meant. Are you saying it's a common issue many people have and were you saying what causes it?
