Window Issues
So this is a weird one. Bought a 2004 A4 Avant this week knowing the front driver and passenger windows did not work. The rear ones were controllable from the driver master switch but not from their own switches. I opened the doors and sure enough the regulator had exploded on the passenger side. I replaced it along with a new motor (with old control board) and now the driver side control can open and close all other windows but not its own. And each window cannot control its own window. I would think it could be wiring somewhere but the fact that it is all the windows having issues I wonder if it is something with the comfort control module? I need to check the wiring from the driver side into the control module still but I thought I’d see if someone had seen something similar before. Thanks!

Have you checked to see if the child lock out switch is applied or not? This is what happens when it’s used, masters switch controls all windows but individuals are locked out.
If all other windows work but the driver’s window using the master driver’s switch, it may be the driver’s master switch that’s at fault or the control module (motor) that’s failed.

Child lock doesn’t seem to be activated. I have tried with a second master switch but it was pulled from a car in the junk yard. I think I will order a new one to see if that helps but I have also replaced the motor and control unit on the driver side.

I had somewhat similar problem with 2003 A4 B6. Turned out to be two things: 1 - broken wire in the driver door jam. And 2: bad driver window controller ( snaps onto windo motor).
