06 2.0T Timing belt question
I'd most likely do it by 75K, but hesitate doing it now at 60K. Can someone familiar with this tell me if there is any record of timing belts failing on the B7 2.0T motors prior to 75K. What do others suggest?

It states 75K for the 2.0T. There has been a lot of talk that Audi extended this to 105K, but I have not been able to find the actual copy of this TSB. Frankly, 105K is a LOOONG time for a timing belt and I would personally not take that gamble unless, I bought the car under CPO and I was still under the 100K extended protion. At least you know it won't cost you anything if it does go. If you are like me and you don't have any warrantee, I would not gamble after 75K. My car had 92K on it when I bought it and the first think I did was get the TB done. I figured I would rather spend the $1000 and know I would not have to buy another motor if the belt goes and I am set for another 50K.
As far as your 60K goes, I would not worry about it until 75K, IMHO. I think 60K is probably too early, but hopefully someone else can chime it and confirm or not.
Cheers

Not sure if I made sense earlier...
I meant that if the car is under CPO warrantee (drivetrain extends to 100K I believe) and you followed all the maintenance requirements and the belt broke (before the 100K), that would be their baby, not yours.

I didn't see any reason to replace TB before 75K either, but will definitely do it at that time. From the research I have done, I have not seen any TB failure prior to 75K on the B7's. We are planning on keeping the car for about 2 more years (when the 09's are coming back as lease returns) by then we'll be pushing 100K.

I stupidly believed the dealership and Audi recommendations when they said no need for a timing belt change on my 2006 2.0T A6 until 110K. Then it broke at 93K and now I am looking at a very expensive engine repair. Calling the dealer back on this was infuriating. They didn't care at all. I doubt Audi cares very much either. Guess I will go with another manufacturer when I sell this car (soon). Didn't even get to 100K before it melted down.
