2008 A4 S Line confusion
Many dealerships (including Audi dealerships) seem to have a large number of 2008 "S-Line" A4s. These cars have the S-Line badge in the grill, but not the 3 Spoke steering wheel.
I was wondering if there is a difference between the S-Line and the S-Line Sport Package.
Are these dealerships just putting S-Line badges in the grill and selling them as "S-Line" to boost the prices? I'm a bit confused, was wondering if some of the experts can help clear it up for me. Thanks

All 2008 A4's were designated as S-Line. However, unless you actually ordered the S-Line package, it would only include the S-Line body kit. A real S-Line came with different suspension, wheels, tires and interior accents. I think that Audi probably did that to help sales of 08's considering that they introduced the new 09 model so early.

Agree with this - easiest way to check for full S-Line is to look for the following
- 3 Spoke Wheel (some may have retrofitted but this is very expensive option)
- satin finish trim near glove box (some may have retrofit at low price)
- S-Line aluminium trim on lower door sills front & rear (unlikely to be a retrofit)
- alloy wheel spoke pattern (lots retrofit & change so not a good indicator)

Ahh I see. Thanks for clearing that up. So is it safe to say that an '08 A4 advertised as 'S-Line' is just a standard A4 if it has a 4 spoke steering wheel and no S-Line aluminum trim on door sills?

Additionally:
S-Line Suspension is one inch (1") lower than stock
Different Bumper-- Not quite an S4-front, but somewhat similar with egg-crate grill/ fogs/ different bumper-grill
Yes- it needs aluminum trim on dash/doors/ and sills, but at least the sills, as there was a an option for wood on S-Line--
And I believe I do have a badge on my steering wheel
