Default A4 B7 Reliability

I am planning to buy a new car this week and I am leaning towards the A4. I loved the car when I test drove it and my only concern is about the reliability of the A4. I have driven two Acuras over the past 13 years so I am accustomed to driving a car with practically no problems.

Can you guys fill me on on how reliable the A4 has been for you? Thanks!!!

Default I have driven nothing but A4's since 1998

8 years later and 3 generations of A4's and I have nothing bad to report. B5, B6 and now B7, they have all been solid!

Were in ATL are you looking at getting your car? At Jim Ellis and at Nalley?

Default Re: I test drove at Jim Ellis on Cobb Pkwy . . .

I am prett sure I know exactly what I want so I am planning to buy it at the dealer who gives me the best price. I really liked the guy I worked with at Jim Ellis Cobb so I hope he will work with me to give me a price I am happy with.

Thanks for your reply

Default Re: A4 B7 Reliability

I have been driving the A4 S-Line for about 7 months and have put 9000 miles on it.

I have had very minor issues, all of which were covered under warrantee. By minor issues I mean pops from headliners, something was loose in onen of the vents and made rattles.

As far as mechanical, electrical, or any other prolems, the car has been SOLID. I have owned pretty much all the major brands out there including BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Acura, etc. and they all have their strengths. I can confidently say that the Audi feels the most solidly build car of the bunch and has been very reliable during its first 9000 miles. I cannot attest to its long term reliability yet, but do have a good feeling over all.

As a side note, if you do end up getting the Audi, make sure you get the Quattro. My A4 is a Quattro 6-Speed, and boy is it lots of fun to zip around town.

Default This is my third Audi and so far, so good.

My B6 1.8T Avant was rock solid, as is my 06 A3, with no major problems. The B7 sedan feels equally solid and I'm hoping that my luck holds out.

Default I am on 4 A4 and they have all been great

I have been very pleased in all aspects of Audi A4 ownership. I have had no major problems. My 98 A4 2.8 was 5 year old when I sold it and the only replacemnt was the rear bearings other than standard maintenance. I am planning on my 5 and 6 cars to be A4's.

My B7 after 8 months and 20000km has been great. Other than a few niggling issues.

1- Vibration from tires/rims/alignment
2- Reprogramming of the automatic transmission shift points so that it would hold each gear longer (it was shifting too early).

I'm totally satified with the car, don't know about long term reliablility since it's too early to tell. Right now, I have confidence that it will last a long time.

I picked up my A4 last August. At the 1000 mile mark I APR'd it for 230 hp. I presently have around 9000 miles.

The car has not had a single issue. Even during some cold winter weather the car didn't squeak or rattle. And need I mention how nicely the thing drives & handles?

Maybe it isn't an Audi after all...

Default You pays your money and takes your chances... Lemoned my 02 B6...

Audi took it back and gave me a new 05.5 B7 at no cost... So far no issues at all with the B7... The B6 got the main wiring harness replaced and a new tranny... Was in the shop about 2 montha out of the 2 years I owned it... I love the B7 though... Has 13K miles so far... Think I'll keep it...
