"Brake" warning questions

Hi all, I just bought a 2007 A4 2.0 quattro turbo and I have a couple of questions.

--I read about ESP functions in the manual, and I am getting repeated "brake" warnings while driving totally under control and into corners very passively. I even got a "brake" warning after routinely backing out of a parking space. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to re-set the tolerances for ESP or something else? Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

--addionally, what is the correct mileage intervals between oil changes? 5k?

What brake warning symbol do you mean? One symbol indicates an issue with the brake system itself, while another does indicate the ESP function. There is no ESP calibration.

I would bring the car to the dealer (or equiv).

it's the one connected to the ESP, I believe, not the one that warns of problems with the brakes themselves.

Check your brake fluid level. Sounds like the fluid is near the limit and when it "slouches" around it triggers the low fluid light.

fluid must have been a bit low. It didn't look like it was, but I added a bit and no more "brake" warning light. I should have figured it out sooner, but thought it had something to do with the ESP system. It did not.
