Default Please reassure me

My wife and I recently started looking for a good used car. We are on a budget, but still wanted something nice. The best car I have owned was a golf so we figured we would look at used for passats. For the heck of it we took an a4 for a test drive. That was the end of the passat quest! Now we are on the quest for a good used a4! After looking at a few we came across an 06 quattro. VERY clean, I mean you could eat out of the engine compartment. Run said drives great, but it is has 160 km. The seller has receipts for recently changing the timing belt, but they also changed the cam shaft. All he could tell me was that the old one showed signs of wear. But----DAM it's a nice car. Long story short, we made an offer and they accepted it. I am kinda falling back on my golf experience of 470km of trouble free driving. Comments would be appreciated, but please don't get too technical. Thanks

I just recently bought an 06 as well, and am loving it.. these cars are pretty solid, I'm much more impressed with the build quality than the earlier A4s.

Having the T belt and cam shaft replaced are positives. Keep an eye on the oil level between changes, otherwise just do the routine maintenance and you should be OK.
