A Changing of the Guard
Natalie, a.k.a. GolfGLSGirl, on the VW Vortex and Mike, a.k.a. Yzerman, also on the Vortex, are big VW addicts and are the co-creators of www.dubmodder.com the online interactive car customizer. So, I guess their influence and passion, and recent purchase of a 2010 Golf GTI in Candy White, has finally driven me down the VW road.
Well, I traded in my beloved and meticulously maintained 2007 A4 2.0TQ today for a 2011 VW Tiquan 2.0T 4MOTION – Comfortline (SE) in White Gold Metallic with the Sports Package (18” Alloy Wheels; Bi-Xenon headlights with Adaptive Front Lights; and Sports Suspension). It includes a huge Pano along with many other nice features. I have included a few shots below of it at the dealer’s, not good shots, but it gives an idea of what it looks like. Right now it is sitting on 16” winters.

The past three years have seen a lot of firsts for this 61 year old. The 2007 Audi was my first German car, joining AudiWorld was the first forum ever, now I have my first VW and first SUV. My plan is to remain a very active AudiWorld member and contribute whenever and however I can. I have had the chance to learn a lot from younger and wiser members, and at the same time, had a chance to “meet” a heck of a lot real nice people. I don’t want to lose the opportunity of interacting with all of them and future AW members.
The good news is at least I stayed in the VAG family.

I will remember to update here to let you and others know how things are going. The first task was to get it home safely. The second task is becoming familar with its handling, and only then will I have a good comparison. Of course there will be input from my wife as this will be her daily commute to work. These will be the opinions that really count
.
