Engine Problem
Earlier today my car's CEL came on and a loud screaching noise was coming from the engine bay. I dont have any means of pulling the OBD II codes at home and am not sure if it is safe to drive the car.
Any care to help me with the issue at hand?

Likely Faulty Crankcase Pressure Control Valve
My 2006 2.0T with 60,000 miles recently suffered some of the same symtoms. Strong Audi diagnosed and reparied the problem. Apparently, a diaphram in this valve has been tearing which results in a screaming sound as air rushes in. I also had a CEL with "knock sensor too high" and "intake manifold leak" fault codes. My repair cost about $200.
